Pleasant Gap was hosting Spring Mills to kick off their best of 3 series in the first round of the 2016 playoffs. The Braves would get a lead off single but was quickly erased with a double play and the Peppers would be out of the inning. Pleasant gap would load the bases with 1 out but Tyler Myers would get the next 2 guys to stirkeout and the scored would be 0-0 after 1. With 2 outs in the second inning Spring Mills would get back to back singles and plate the first run of the game taking a 1-0 lead. Pleasant Gap would have to scrap back and took advantage of an error and a ground out to even the at 1 after the second inning. The Peppers would use small ball to push across another run in the 4th when Trey Burger would lead off with a bloop double and later score on an RBI single from Zach Moerschbacher. With the score 2-1 in the 5th the Peppers would add some insurance scoring 3 more runs while only managing 1 hit but getting help from 2 Braves errors. In the 6th the Peppers would once again put up a big number scoring 4 highlighted by a triple from Trent Fortney and ending with a double from Doylan Dietrich. The Peppers starting pitcher Dan Roan would not let another batter reach base after the second inning ending the day with 3 hits given up.
