The Pirates got revenge on the Mounties of Clarence on a walk off home run hit by Cody Doran in the bottom of the 8th inning. The game was ruled by the pitchers, Josh Potter and Brian Kochik, who dominated both the potent offensive lineups of Spike Island and Clarence.

The Pirates threatened in the bottom of the first following two straight HBP of Curtis and Bryan who later advanced to second and third with no outs. Kochik was able to get Marcinko and McCamley to pop out to the infield and Myers to go down on strikes.

The Mounties threatened in the fourth inning when MacNamara and Taylor led off the inning with back to back singles. MacNamara moved up to third on Taylor’s single to left field. Taylor stole third but both Mounties were left on base after Potter got the Clarence hitters to strike out and ground out to end the inning.

The Pirates once again got runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fifth after singles by Parker Watson and Jeremy Beals but were stranded following strikeouts to end the inning by Cody Doran and Robbie Smith.

The Pirates once again stranded the winning run on third base in the bottom of the seventh after Brandon Myers doubled to the left center field gap and was pinch ran by Travis Arnold. After a Nate Kerlin sacrifice fly moved Arnold to third base, he was stranded after a strikeout to end the inning of Watson.

Yet, Potter was able to get a double play and a strikeout in the 8th before Doran provided the heroics for the Pirates on a walk off home-run to left field following by a mob at home plate in celebration.

The Pirates move to 9-1 on the season  and retake first place in the CCBL. The Mounties fall to 8-2 and move to second place. The Pirates play next tomorrow, Saturday at home at the PO high school field at 2 pm vs. Howard. Clarence plays next Sunday at Pleasant Gap at 2 pm.
